Laka Glacier sits just above the Triund ridge at Laka Got (3,350 m), a small living glacier under the Indrahar wall. The trek takes the Triund route on day one, camps on the ridge, then pushes past the Snowline cafe to the glacier snout — close enough to stand on old snow even in late spring — before descending.
Laka Glacier sits just above the Triund ridge at Laka Got (3,350 m), a small living glacier tucked under the Indrahar wall. The trek takes the familiar Triund route on day one, camps on the ridge, then pushes up past the Snowline cafe to the glacier snout — close enough to stand on old snow and ice even in late spring. It is a short, rewarding step up in altitude and seriousness from Triund without the commitment of a pass crossing, which makes it a favourite for trekkers who have done Triund and want more height, more snow and far fewer people. Run with a local guide, ridge camping, meals and McLeod Ganj transfers arranged.

Safety & good to know
A bit — it adds the higher day to Laka Got and the glacier with snow underfoot. If you managed Triund comfortably you can do this.
Usually yes near the glacier snout into late spring, and again from late autumn. Mid-summer it can be patchy.
Yes, fit beginners can — it is graded moderate. We keep an easy pace and the guide manages the snow section.
