What's the minimum age / weight?+
Minimum age 12 with a guardian waiver. Weight range 30–110 kg per passenger. Outside that range we cannot safely match wing-loading.
Is it really a 30-minute flight?+
On a weak-thermal day it's 20-25 min straight glide. On a strong day the pilot can circle thermals for 40+ min. You don't pay per minute — you pay per flight.
What about the video package?+
Optional — the pilot carries a GoPro and shares the footage via WeTransfer within 24 hours. Add-on ₹1,000-1,500 depending on the pilot.
What if the weather is bad?+
We postpone or refund. No flight is ever forced through poor conditions. If you're only in Bir for one day, we recommend arriving early so we can reschedule to an afternoon window if needed.
How much does paragliding in Bir Billing cost?+
Our Bir-Billing tandem is from ₹5,100 per person with a licensed pilot. In-flight video is a paid add-on rather than included. The shorter Indru Nag flight near Dharamshala is from ₹2,600.
Is Bir Billing paragliding safe for first-timers?+
Yes, with a certified tandem pilot — no experience is needed and you only run a few steps at launch. The Dhauladhar face sets up a stable thermal column almost every clear day from March to November, which is why first-timers fly here. Flights are weather-dependent; reputable operators cancel rather than fly in poor conditions.
What is the best season for paragliding in Bir Billing?+
September–November is prime: post-monsoon air is stable with long flights and clear valley views. March–June also flies well; the monsoon (July–August) shuts the site down.
What time do flights take off?+
The take-off window usually opens between 10:30 and 11 am, once the sun has warmed the south-facing slope enough to produce rising thermals. Arriving at 9 am gets you a wait, not an earlier flight — the pilots do not rush the window.
Why do they ask for my weight?+
Every wing has a weight range, and you are paired with a pilot whose total system weight matches it. Give your honest weight at booking rather than at the ground-crew van — a mismatched pairing is what produces the sluggish, short flights people complain about in reviews.
