The trip
Bir-Billing is one of the few sites in the world that can be flown comfortably by complete beginners under a qualified pilot. The take-off at Billing (2,400 m) faces a stable south-easterly thermal window from mid-morning. Landing is at the Chaugan ground in Bir (1,400 m) — a 1,000 m vertical drop that usually takes 25-40 minutes, depending on thermal lift.
Bir Billing is one of the best-known paragliding destinations in India, and the experience is built for travelers who want a clean, simple flight with professional handling. The take-off point at Billing sits high above Bir, and the flight usually begins with a short briefing before a tandem launch with a certified pilot. Once in the air, the ride opens up to wide valley views, layered hills, fields, and the mountain wall of the Dhauladhar range in the distance. The landing in Bir is smooth when weather conditions are right, and the whole activity stays focused on safety and comfort. It works well for first-timers because no flying experience is needed. The main appeal is the combination of easy access, scenic altitude, and the feeling of floating over the valley.

Questions
What's the minimum age / weight?+
Minimum age 12 with a guardian waiver. Weight range 30–110 kg per passenger. Outside that range we cannot safely match wing-loading.
Is it really a 30-minute flight?+
On a weak-thermal day it's 20-25 min straight glide. On a strong day the pilot can circle thermals for 40+ min. You don't pay per minute — you pay per flight.
What about the video package?+
Optional — the pilot carries a GoPro and shares the footage via WeTransfer within 24 hours. Add-on ₹1,000-1,500 depending on the pilot.
What if the weather is bad?+
We postpone or refund. No flight is ever forced through poor conditions. If you're only in Bir for one day, we recommend arriving early so we can reschedule to an afternoon window if needed.
