The trick Snow White pulls off is being in the dead centre of Dharamkot while still being quiet, and the explanation is straightforward once you see it: the rooms face green fields and forest rather than the lane. You get the two-minute walk to everything without the two-in-the-morning conversation outside your window.

The rooms
Rooms were renovated recently and the new ones draw consistent praise for their showers and beds. Six or so reviewers mention balconies. Hot water runs 24 hours and genuinely does, which in a village of solar geysers and cold seven-a.m. surprises is a legitimate selling point.
The shared facilities are the reason to pick this one. There is a kitchen with a fridge and a water filter, so you are not buying plastic bottles for a month, an on-site laundry service, and — unexpectedly — a small calisthenics gym.
Take the water filter seriously as a reason to book. Tap water here is not for drinking, most guest houses solve that by selling you bottles, and a fortnight of bottled water is both a running cost and a bin bag of plastic that has nowhere good to go in a hill village. Refilling for free is the quietly practical thing about this place.
Who runs it
Shashi, whose name is spelt Sheshi in about half the reviews, manages it with Dilip; other listings also name Anup. "Exceptional host" and "welcoming staff" together account for a good share of the feedback, and the practical version of that is early check-ins, cabs arranged and questions answered.
Where it is
You are directly opposite Bodhi Greens, which puts the café strip, the market and the Dharamkot bus point within a couple of minutes. For a first visit this is the correct trade: you can walk to everything, work out which end of the village you like, and move next time if you want quieter.
Honest drawbacks
Two, and the first one matters. There is a mix of older and newer rooms, and at least two guests noted the older ones felt musty or slightly mouldy. Specifically request a renovated room when you book. Do not assume — ask, and ask again at check-in.
Second, several reviews mention that phone signal is patchy across all of Dharamkot, not only here. Plan on wifi for calls, and do not book a room on the assumption you will have four bars for a work call on Monday morning.
A naming warning too: there is a separate Snow Villa Guest House in Dharamkot, and a Snow White Homestay listed at a different address. Check you are booking the main-street guest house opposite Bodhi Greens.
Best for
First-time visitors who want to be in the middle of everything, and budget-conscious travellers who want a kitchen and a water filter without paying for a private one.
If it's booked out
Kishore Singh Homestay is the other central option and gives you a private kitchen instead of a shared one. Soma House is quieter and newer but adds an uphill walk.
If central is the whole point and everything in the village is full, OmiHomeStay sits between Bhagsu and Dharamkot, costs less, and is a fifteen-minute walk from this same street.
