Snowline is the short push beyond the Triund ridge to the seasonal snow line of the Dhauladhar at Laka Got (≈3,100 m) — a summer grazing ground where Gaddi shepherds rest their flocks before the high passes. The trail shares the classic Triund approach from McLeod Ganj through oak and rhododendron forest, then climbs past the ridge cafes to the open snow-bowl below the Indrahar wall. At roughly 13 km it is an easy-to-moderate trek that gives a real taste of high-Dhauladhar scenery without the commitment of a pass crossing — a natural one-step-further alternative to Triund.
Snowline is a short, beginner-friendly trek that picks up where Triund ends. From McLeod Ganj the trail climbs through oak and rhododendron forest to the Triund ridge, then pushes another hour or so to Laka Got — the seasonal snow line of the Dhauladhar at around 3,100 m. The whole route is roughly 13 km and rates easy to moderate, which makes it a popular choice for first-time trekkers who still want real snow underfoot and close views of the Indrahar wall. Nights are spent in camp below the snow bowl, with a bonfire, dinner, and an open Himalayan sky. In winter and spring the snow line is the star of the trek; by summer it becomes open shepherd grazing ground with sweeping views over the Kangra Valley.
